The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), in partnership with Sri Lanka’s National Cleaner Production Centre (NCPC), is pleased to announce the Call for Expression of Interest to participate in the 3rd batch of the Expert Training Programme on Implementation of Energy Management Systems (EnMS) in conformity with ISO 50001:2018 Standard.
Free of charge, the internationally recognized training will run from January to September 2025. The sessions will be imparted by international trainers with decades of experience helping industries of all sizes reduce their energy consumption and production costs.
The course combines online and face-to-face sessions. It also takes participants out of the classroom into their work environments where they are supported to develop energy management systems that are tailored to their company’s needs.
A growing sector with opportunities for women: The energy efficiency sector currently employs 10 million workers worldwide, with the potential to grow by another 4.5 million by 2030 if targets set at COP28 to double energy efficiency are met. With the sector requiring a diverse skill set across various industries, women are increasingly active in the energy workforce and as entrepreneurs contributing to economic growth, industrial development and climate action.
